"King & Queens" Contest Guidelines

This year we will be celebrating the international year of African decent! and what a better way to celebrating than embracing royalty at its finest!

we want you to show us your us different aspects of African royalty either from you very own cultural background or one that you admire.  you do not have to be african to participate in this contest! all are welcome!

here are a few guidelines/rules for the contest:
  1. there must be at least 15 people per group/entry.
  2. must predominately display african culture
  3. it can be anything within the realm of royalty. (i.e. kings, queens, princes, princesses, warrior tribes, royal processions, royal courts, etc.) for guidance or assistance for your concept please contact us we will be more than willingly to help! 
  4. anyone regardless of race, gender, creed, etc. are welcome to participate.
  5. you will be judged according to: costume, cultural significance, accuracy, presentation, originality, music, organization, and presence,
  6. there will be prizes awarded to the top 3 teams: 1st Prize ($1000), 2nd Prize ($500), and 3rd prize ($300) in addition to trophies, and sponsorship gifts.
  7. submissions for your group are due via online submission by october 1st, 2011
  8. Finally remember to have fun and enjoy the parade!!
